Work will include site clearing, earthwork, storm sewer, concrete footings, paving, and curb, site furnishings, playground equipment, engineered wood fiber, and landscape.
Bids will be accepted at the Crystal Lake Park District, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake,
Illinois 60014, during regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with
the Contractor’s name and address, and “Crystal Lake Park District, Canterbury Park and Asbury Park,”
on the face of the envelope. All bidders will be required to submit Bid Security in the form of a
Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the Crystal
Lake Park District. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.
This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. seq.). A prevailing
wage determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in
McHenry County. The contract entered into for this project will be drawn in compliance with said law
and proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide for payment of all laborers, workmen, and
mechanics needed to perform the work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages (or the prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime work) for each craft, type of worker, or mechanic.
The Crystal Lake Park District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all
proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be
withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the
Crystal Lake Park District. The Crystal Lake Park District encourages minority business firms to submit
bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for
supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
