The Dolton Park District does hereby invite sealed bids for the Blackstone Park Final Design project.

Work will include: site preparation, construction fencing, temporary soil erosion and sediment control

measures, site removals and clearing, earthwork, excavation, and grading; storm sewer utilities, cast-inplace

concrete foundations and footings, playground and fitness equipment, picnic shelter, site

furnishings, interpretive signage, asphalt paving, concrete paving and barrier curb, native planting, and

turf seeding.

Project manuals, including bid form, specifications, and construction documents are available after

10:00 AM on January 18, 2024 from the Hitchcock Design Group Plan Room website:

Naperville, Illinois 60563 – 630.428.4433) for the non-refundable cost of reproduction.

Bids will be accepted at the Dolton Park District – 721 Engle Street, Dolton, Illinois 60419, during

regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name

and address, and “Bid for Blackstone Park Final Design,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be

received no later than 10:00 AM on February 8, 2024. Bids will be opened on 10:01 AM on February 8,

2024, at the Dolton Park District – 721 Engle Street, Dolton, Illinois 60419. All bidders will be required

to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount of 10%

of the Base Bid, payable to the Dolton Park District.

The successful bidder, as determined by the Dolton Park District, shall be required to pay, and to agree to

pay no less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages, pursuant to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS

130) for the locality of the Dolton Park District (Cook County), to each laborer worker, or mechanic

needed or used to complete the work as detailed in the contract to be let. The successful contractor, and

all subcontractors shall be required to submit, to the Dolton Park District, certified payrolls no later than

the tenth day of each calendar month for the immediately preceding month.

The Dolton Park District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals,

or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be withdrawn

until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the Dolton Park

District. The Dolton Park District encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and

the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment,

services, and construction.
