Sergeant Means Park The Olympia Fields Park District does hereby invite sealed bids for Sergeant Means Park. Work will include: site preparation, construction fencing, temporary soil erosion and sediment control, site removals and clearing, earthwork, excavation, and grading, storm sewer utilities, case-in-place concrete foundations and footings, asphalt paving, concrete paving and curbs, picnic shelter, playground & fitness equipment, playground surfacing, turf grass seeding, and landscaping.

Project manuals, including bid form and specifications, and construction documents are available after 1:00 PM on January 3, 2022 from Accurate Reprographics 2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100, Naperville, Illinois 60563, 630.428.4433 www.hitchcockplanroom.com. Bidding documents are available at the non-refundable cost of reproduction for each bid package.

Bids will be accepted at the Olympia Fields Park District, 20712 Western Avenue, Olympia Fields, Illinois 60461 during regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name and address, and “Olympia Fields Park District – Sergeant Means Park,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be received no later than 1:00 PM on January 24, 2022. Bids will be opened on January 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Olympia Fields Park District, 20712 Western Avenue, Olympia Fields, Illinois 60461. All bidders will be required to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the Olympia Fields Park District. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.

This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.). A prevailing wage determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in Lake County. The contract entered into for this project will be drawn in compliance with said law and proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide for payment of all laborers, workmen, and mechanics needed to perform the work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages (or the prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work) for each craft, type of worker, or mechanic.

The successful contractor, and all subcontractors shall be required to submit, to the Olympia Fields Park District, certified payrolls no later than the tenth day of each calendar month for the immediately preceding month.

The Olympia Fields Park District reserves the right to waive technicalities, to accept or reject any or all bids, and/or to accept only portions of a bid and reject the remainder. The Park District will award the contract to the lowest most responsible and responsive Bidder, as determined by the Park District. In considering the Bidder’s responsibility, the Park District may evaluate, among other factors, the ability of the Bidder to provide experienced labor sufficient in numbers to timely and properly complete the services, the financial capability of the Bidder, and the performance of the Bidder on other projects.

No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the Olympia Fields Park District. The Olympia Fields Park District encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
