The City of Marseilles does hereby invite sealed bids for the Broadway Park Final Design project. Work
will include: : site preparation, construction fencing, temporary soil erosion sediment control measures,
site removals and clearing, earthwork, excavation, and grading, stormwater utilities, electrical service utilities
and lighting, cast-in-place concrete foundations and footings, open-air shelter, playground equipment
on engineered wood fiber play surfacing, spray pad, site furnishings, color coat and striping, concrete
paving, vehicular asphalt paving, coated chain link fencing and gates, trees, shrubs, low plant material,
and native and turf seeding.
Project manuals, including bid form, specifications, and construction documents are available after
11:00 AM on February 1, 2024 from the Hitchcock Design Group Plan Room website:
www.hitchcockplanroom.com via Accurate Reprographics (2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100,
Naperville, Illinois 60563 – 630.428.4433) for the non-refundable cost of reproduction.
Bids will be accepted at the City of Marseilles – 209 Lincoln Street, Marseilles, Illinois 61341, during
regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name
and address, and “Bid for Broadway Park Final Design,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be received
no later than 11:00 AM on March 14, 2024. Bids will be opened on 11:01 AM on March 14,
2024, at the City of Marseilles – 209 Lincoln Street, Marseilles, Illinois 61341. All bidders will be required
to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount
of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the City of Marseilles.
The successful bidder, as determined by the City of Marseilles, shall be required to pay, and to agree to
pay no less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages, pursuant to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS
130) for the locality of the City of Marseilles (LaSalle County), to each laborer worker, or mechanic
needed or used to complete the work as detailed in the contract to be let. The successful contractor, and
all subcontractors shall be required to submit, to the City of Marseilles, certified payrolls no later than the
tenth day of each calendar month for the immediately preceding month.
The City of Marseilles reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or
to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be withdrawn until
a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the City of Marseilles.
The City of Marseilles encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the
successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment,
services, and construction.
