The Oakbrook Terrace Park District does hereby invite sealed bids for Dorothy Drennon Park. Work will
include removal of existing artificial turf play surfacing, infill, pad, nailer board, and McCook 210 as
needed to provide adequate impact/wear course thickness based on critical fall height of the existing
playground equipment. Includes re-compaction of McCook 210 aggregate, as needed, and installation of
new poured-in-place rubber play surfacing, aliphatic binder, and impact attenuation testing. Protect
existing playground equipment and concrete perimeter curb to remain in place.
Project manuals, including bid form and specifications, and construction documents are available after
11:00 AM on June 20, 2023 from Accurate Reprographics 2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100, Naperville,
Illinois 60563, 630.428.4433 www.hitchcockplanroom.com. Bidding documents are available at the nonrefundable
cost of reproduction for each bid package.
Bids will be accepted at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District, 1S325 Ardmore Avenue, Oakbrook Terrace,
Illinois 60181 during regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with
the Contractor’s name and address, and “Oakbrook Terrace Park District, Dorothy Drennon Park,” on the
face of the envelope. Bids must be received no later than 11:00 AM on July 11, 2023. Bids will be opened
on July 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District, 1S325 Ardmore Avenue, Oakbrook
Terrace, Illinois 60181. All bidders will be required to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond,
Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the Oakbrook Terrace
Park District. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.
This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.). A prevailing wage
determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in DuPage
County. The contract entered into for this project will be drawn in compliance with said law and
proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide for payment of all laborers, workmen, and
mechanics needed to perform the work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages (or the prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime work) for each craft, type of worker, or mechanic. The successful

contractor, and all subcontractors shall be required to submit, to the Oakbrook Terrace Park District,
certified payrolls no later than the tenth day of each calendar month for the immediately preceding month.
The Oakbrook Terrace Park District reserves the right to waive technicalities, to accept or reject any or all
bids, and/or to accept only portions of a bid and reject the remainder. The Park District will award the
contract to the lowest most responsible and responsive Bidder, as determined by the Park District. In
considering the Bidder’s responsibility, the Park District may evaluate, among other factors, the ability of
the Bidder to provide experienced labor sufficient in numbers to timely and properly complete the
services, the financial capability of the Bidder, and the performance of the Bidder on other projects.
No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without
written consent of the Oakbrook Terrace Park District. The Oakbrook Terrace Park District encourages
minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize
minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. Questions
