The Zion Park District does hereby invite sealed bids for Edina Park Bike Trail. Work will include
earthwork operations, temporary fencing and erosion control, asphalt patching, concrete curbs and paving,
crushed stone paving, site furnishings, turf grass seeding, and drainage improvements.
Project manuals, including bid form and specifications, and construction documents are available after
10:00 A.M. on July 27, 2022 from Accurate Reprographics, 2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100, Naperville,
Illinois 60563, 630.428.4433, www.hitchcockplanroom.com. Bidding documents are available at the
non-refundable cost of reproduction.
Bids will be accepted at the Zion Park District, 2400 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, Illinois 60099 during
regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name
and address, and “Edina Park Bike Trail, Zion Park District,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be
received no later than 10:00 A.M. on August 10, 2022. Bids will be opened on August 10, 2021, at 10:05
A.M. at the Zion Park District, 2400 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, Illinois 60099. All bidders will be
required to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the
amount of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the Zion Park District. No proposals or bids will be
considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.
The successful bidder, as determined by the Zion Park District, shall be required to pay, and to agree to
pay no less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages for the locality of the Zion Park District, to each laborer
worker, or mechanic needed or used to complete the work as detailed in the contract to be let.
The Zion Park District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or
waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. The Zion Park District will award the contract
to the lowest most responsible and responsive Bidder, as determined by the Zion Park District. In
considering the Bidder’s responsibility, the Zion Park District may evaluate, among other factors, the
ability of the Bidder to provide experienced labor sufficient in numbers to timely and properly complete
the services, the financial capability of the Bidder, and the performance of the Bidder on other projects.
No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without
written consent of the Zion Park District. The Zion Park District encourages minority business firms to
submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors
for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
