Each bid shall be made on the appropriate “Bid Proposal Form” furnished within the bid documents.
Quantities shown on the bid proposal form are intended as estimates only, and it is the responsibility of each bidder to calculate the actual quantities required to complete the Work as intended and shown in the Specifications, and to use the calculated quantities in preparing each bid.
Any bidder may modify its bid by written notice (signed by the bidder) at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. provided that such written notice is received by the District prior to the bid opening. Modifications of bid submittals by telefax will not be permitted.
Each bidder submitting a bid for the Contract shall first examine the Contract Documents identified in the General Conditions. visit the site. if appropriate or required by the specifications. and fully inform itself as to all existing conditions and limitations. Each bid shall take into consideration such conditions as may affect the work under the Contract. It is understood that omissions from any bid due to the failure of a bidder to fully acquaint itself with the site conditions and the requirements of the Contract Documents will not entitle a bidder to additional compensation if awarded the Contract.
It is the intent of the District to award a Contract for the Homestead Hill Playground Improvement Project At Harvester Park, based on the lowest responsible bidder for the Contract, taking into account the special qualifications set forth in Section I of these Instructions to Bidders.
The Contract will be awarded by the District on a lump sum basis, based on the unit prices indicated for the Work to be performed. The District anticipates award of the Contract, if at all, on May 14. 2018.
